Candidate Registration Form Due
Each candidate for Confirmation will need to have a
registration form completed and returned to the Precious Blood Rectory by
October 23, 2007. |

Letter from the Sponsor’s/Journey Partner’s Home Parish Due
Choosing a
sponsor that is active in their faith is essential to the success of the
spiritual formation of this program. If your sponsor attends a church
other than Precious Blood, they will need to have a letter from their home
parish stating that they are an active member of their home parish.

Enrollment Mass
& Spirit Day #1
- 8:30 a.m.
This Mass celebrates the candidate’s decision to receive the sacrament of
Confirmation. During the Mass, parents, sponsors, catechists, and
candidates will be asked to make a verbal commitment to the educational
and spiritual formation of the Confirmation Program. The entire church
community will also be asked to commit to helping and praying for these
candidates. Candidates and Sponsors will begin the morning with Mass at
8:30 am and then proceed to the cafeteria from 9:30 am - noon. Breakfast will be served
after Mass. A $3.00 fee for breakfast will be collected, which covers
costs for both the sponsor and
candidate. |

13th and
March 2nd, 2008 |
Candidate/Sponsor Spirit Days #2 & #3
These mornings will focus on the candidates' call to ministry. We will look at the three ways Jesus
ministered as priest, prophet, and king and how we are called to do the
same as followers of Christ. Sponsors and/or journey partners are expected to be present at
these Spirit Mornings. Spirit Mornings begin at 8:30 am with
Mass; Candidates and Sponsors are expected to be a part of the
liturgical celebration, and they will have a specially designated place
to sit in front (other family members are welcome to sit with them.)
They will then convene from 9:30 til noon in the school Cafeteria
(breakfast will be provided). |

January 13th |
Confirmation Name
Due and
Saint Report Due - The 250-word Saint Report is based on the name
chosen for Confirmation, which could be the baptismal name, the name of
a canonized saint, or someone who leads or has led a life that truly
exemplifies what it means to be a Christian. |

April 19th & 20th |
Confirmation Retreat
The Confirmation Retreat is an overnight retreat for candidates only. The
retreat will focus on the gifts of the Spirit and using our gifts for the
building of the Kingdom. Attendance at this retreat is mandatory and
candidates must stay for the entire retreat. The retreat begins at 4:00 pm
on Saturday and closes on Sunday after the
10:30 am mass. |

April 19th |
Confirmation
Journals Due
The journal will focus on accepting our new Christian name, the
gifts of the Holy Spirit, and living a life in line with our Catholic
faith. The candidate and Sponsor/Journey Partner are to meet four
times to work together on
this journal.

Confirmation Service Reflection Sheets Due
Service to others is the outward sign of a mature Christian
disciple. Candidates are asked to do a minimum of 10 hours of service.
Guidelines are listed on the Service Reflection sheets. |

April 25th |
Individual
Confirmation
Banner Due:
The Confirmation Banner is a way for our candidates to express
themselves artistically and display their new Christian name. We are
asking both candidates and their sponsors work together on this project. |

May 9th |
Confirmation
Dinner & Rehearsal from
6:00 - 8:30 pm
High School Youth Ministry will host a dinner (tentative but
probably) in the PB school cafeteria for Candidates and Sponsors just
prior to the rehearsal. All Sponsors (if possible) are required to be at
rehearsal. |
